Salem Soup Suppers Wednesdays During Lent

Salem Soup Suppers are scheduled for Wednesdays during Lent. Ask a few people to join you and your family or your group in sponsoring a soup supper. As a sponsor for a supper, you will provide 8-10 gallons of soup (varied kinds), beverages, and willing hands to clean up and serve (from 5:30-6:45pm) prior to the 7pm worship service. A free-will offering is received and can be designated to the Salem ministry of your choice. The people dining bring breads, crackers, or desserts to share. Lent will soon be upon us!  Sign up in the Welcome Center or call the office to host a night.

February Volunteers Needed for Meals on Wheels

February is Salem's month to furnish volunteers to deliver "Meals on Wheels" to Sycamore shut-ins for the Voluntary Action Center.

Salem furnishes two volunteers a day for three Sycamore routes (West, Central, and East) each weekday in February.

It doesn't take long to complete a route (usually 11am-12:30pm) and your help is appreciated!

Please call Salem's office to volunteer (815-895-9171).

Scout Sunday/Souper Bowl of Caring February 1

The Boy Scouts of America has designated February 1 as Scout Sunday to recognize the contributions of young people and adults to scouting. On February 1, BSA Troop #2810 will celebrate Scout Sunday at Salem by participating in the 10:30am service and sponsoring "Souper Bowl of Caring." "Souper Bowl of Caring" allows the troop to collect food pantry items and monetary donations to benefit Salem's Food Pantry. The congregation is asked to please bring food pantry items for the collection baskets, and after the service scouts will be using "soup pots" to collect monetary donations.
